Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 Adds Respecs and Pet Cats

PlayStation

Rebel Wolves has detailed the first big patch for The Blood of Dawnwalker. Update 1.1 is planned for next week on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it brings one of the most requested features since launch: a way to reset your build.

Respecs and new difficulty options

According to the studio’s official news post, a new item called the Draught of Mind Rebirth lets players respec their skills across Swordmastery, Witchcraft and Vampirism. That should make it far easier to experiment with Coen’s different playstyles without starting a new save.

The update also reworks difficulty. The current Story setting is being renamed Forgiving, and a new Story mode takes its place with extra combat assistance for players who mostly want to follow the narrative.

And yes, you can now pet the animals. Rebel Wolves is adding directional petting for dogs and cats, which has become something close to a requirement for open-world RPGs.

Accessibility, performance and fixes

Subtitles are getting larger size options, and every line of dialogue will now be subtitled. Frame generation gets an update with its own dedicated settings. The patch also improves the camera and combat targeting, and fixes traversal issues with Shadowstep and Planeshift.

Beyond those headline changes, Rebel Wolves lists more than 1,100 other fixes and improvements. Players on the Japanese Steam version will also see blood uncensored.

The Blood of Dawnwalker has had a strong start, passing a million copies sold, as RCG reported in Blood of Dawnwalker Hits 1 Million Copies Sold. Update 1.1 looks aimed at the players who have stuck with it since, smoothing the rough edges and making it easier to try a different take on Coen without losing progress.

Rebel Wolves has not given an exact day for the patch beyond next week, but the full list of changes is up now on the game’s site.
