Sony has locked in a date and price for its next PlayStation headset. The new PlayStation Pulse wireless headset launches on Thursday, November 19, for $99.99, according to an update to the PlayStation Blog posted on October 21. It will also cost £89.99 in the UK and €99.99 in Europe.
Pre-orders open on Thursday, October 29, at 10:00am local time, directly from PlayStation where available and through participating retailers. Both colors, White and Midnight Black, will be available to pre-order.
What you get
Sony first revealed the Pulse and the higher-end Pulse Edge in September, and RCG covered that announcement of both headsets. The standard Pulse uses planar magnetic drivers, the same kind of technology Sony used in the Pulse Elite, and it connects to PS5 and PlayStation Portal over PlayStation Link. It also supports Bluetooth for other devices and can stay connected to two devices at once, so you can switch between your console and phone without re-pairing.
For chat, the Pulse has a built-in microphone with AI-powered noise rejection meant to cut background sound. The headset also supports the PS5’s spatial audio. Sony says the design has rotating earcups that let it lay flat for easier carrying.
Pulse Edge comes later
The Pulse Edge is the premium model, with upgraded drivers, premium materials, a detachable boom mic, a hidden built-in mic for when you take the boom off, and a carrying case. Sony has not shared its price yet and says it will have more to share when the Edge launches in 2027.
The timing is notable. As Push Square points out, November 19 is the same day GTA 6 arrives, so Sony is clearly aiming at players planning a big night on the couch. Launch regions include the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and much of Europe, so most PS5 owners should be able to get one on day one.
