Comic-Con 2027 Returning Badges Sell Out in 90 Minutes

Comics

It took about an hour and a half. Comic-Con International says every badge in its Returning Registration sale for Comic-Con 2027 is gone, after the sale opened Saturday morning, October 17, at 9 a.m. PT (11 a.m. CT).

“All Returning Registration badges have been sold,” Comic-Con posted at 10:30 a.m. PT. “If you were unable to purchase a badge today, we encourage you to try during Open Registration in November!”

How fast each day went

The virtual waiting room opened at 7:30 a.m. PT, according to Comic-Con’s Returning Registration survival guide, and buyers in the room were selected for registration sessions once the sale began at 9. Comic-Con’s own updates on X tracked the sellouts in real time (times below in CT):

  • Wednesday Preview Night: sold out at 11:34 a.m.
  • Saturday: sold out at 12:03 p.m.
  • Friday: sold out at 12:08 p.m.
  • Thursday: sold out at 12:21 p.m., with Sunday running low
  • All remaining badges: gone by 12:30 p.m.

Returning Registration is open only to eligible past attendees, so Saturday’s sale was the first shot at 2027 badges.

Dates, prices and what comes next

Comic-Con 2027 runs July 22 to 25 at the San Diego Convention Center, with Preview Night on Wednesday, July 21. According to Comic-Con’s badge page, single-day badges for Thursday, Friday and Saturday cost $88 for adults and $44 for juniors, U.S. military and seniors. Sunday badges are $67 and $34. Preview Night is also $67 and $34, but it is not sold on its own: it can only be added by buying all four days, Thursday through Sunday.

Anyone who missed out gets one more major chance. Open Registration, the general public sale, is set for Saturday, November 14, 2026. Anyone with a Comic-Con Member ID is eligible, so it is worth making sure your account is in order before sale day.

San Diego is not the only show on the calendar. L.A. Comic Con is coming up at the end of this month, where The Bride Wore Black #1 debuts on October 30. But for the biggest show of the year, Saturday’s sellout is another reminder of how hard San Diego badges are to get. Anyone hoping to attend next summer should mark November 14 now.
