Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Ember Lab have delayed Kena: Scars of Kosmora — the sequel to Kena: Bridge of Spirits — from its previously planned 2026 release window to 2027, according to Gematsu (October 1, 2026), quoting Ember Lab’s PlayStation Blog development update. It remains planned physically and digitally for PlayStation 5 and for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
COO Josh Grier and writer Thomas Varga said the team needs more time to polish an expanded experience that aims to exceed Bridge of Spirits at a bigger scale. Story overview: Spirit Guide Kena travels to the island of Kosmora at the urging of childhood friend Orfio, exploring Alchemystic Temples tied to four elements, living cultures shaped by those elements, and a crystalline canine companion that works as mount, combat ally, and puzzle partner.
Exact 2027 quarter is unnamed in the update — do not invent a spring/fall lock. The game is still framed as a character-focused linear adventure with broader scope and off-path exploration than the 2021 debut.
For US PlayStation calendars, this is a clear one-year slip on a Sony-published sequel that had been in the 2026 conversation since its February announcement trailer. For another dated multiplat calendar beat already on RCG, see Monster Hunter Outlanders Global Launch Oct. 29.
Bridge of Spirits fans who marked 2026 on a wishlist should move Scars of Kosmora into a 2027 holding pattern and keep an eye on PlayStation Blog for the next dated trailer rather than storefront preorder countdowns. Ember Lab’s elemental-temple and crystalline-mount pitch is the fullest story overview since the February announce trailer, but it still does not replace a quarter lock. Physical PS5 collectors get the same delay note as digital and PC buyers — no platform was singled out as shipping earlier.
What we are not saying: we are not inventing a 2027 month, claiming Xbox or Switch versions, or spoiling temple puzzle solutions beyond Ember Lab’s published overview. Report delay to 2027; platforms PS5 and PC as stated.
