Frank Miller and Peach Momoko are not done working together. Speaking at a press roundtable at Lucca Comics & Games 2026, Miller said the pair already have another comic in the works, SciFiNow reports.
“We’re doing another book soon,” Miller said. “And I hope to enjoy getting to work with her more, but more just watching her explode.”
He did not give a title, publisher or release date. Miller wrote and Momoko drew “Tears of the Spider-Queen,” a story in Marvel’s milestone The Amazing Spider-Man #1000, and the two also teamed up on a variant cover for the issue.
Miller had nothing but praise for his collaborator. “She’s a wonderful talent,” he said. “She’s just a young prodigy.”
The Spider-Man story pushed Miller into territory he said he had rarely explored: Japanese horror. “I’d seen some Japanese anime and Japanese manga that included horror stories, and they have a completely different concept of what horror is,” he told Bleeding Cool, pointing to the ghost prints of the 19th-century printmaker Tsukioka Yoshitoshi. “There’s a very female sense and vitality to the supernatural in Japanese ghost stories. And so to work with Peach, I got to throw her stories that involved the supernatural, and then to see what she conjured. Some of it was a lot scarier than anything I would imagine.”
Both artists are guests at Lucca’s 60th anniversary edition, where they appear together at a Marvel Legacy panel about the meeting of American comics and manga, starting from their Spider-Man collaboration. Their signings have drawn long queues through the festival.
Momoko has become one of Marvel’s most distinctive voices in recent years, writing and drawing her own Demon Days and X-Men books in a style rooted in Japanese folklore. Miller, meanwhile, has published new work through his own imprint, Frank Miller Presents, in recent years.
The Sin City and The Dark Knight Returns creator was also inducted into the Harvey Awards Hall of Fame this fall. More details on the new book with Momoko should come once a publisher announces it.
