Monday, Oct. 26 is Liberty Day in Helldivers 2, the in-universe holiday celebrating Managed Democracy, and Arrowhead Game Studios is marking its third year with free gifts and decorations. The studio detailed the plans on the PlayStation Blog.
For 24 hours, players will find banners, rugs, party supplies and other decorations aboard their Super Destroyers. The main gift is the AR-23L Liberator Legacy, a retro take on the series’ standard rifle modeled after weapons from the First Galactic War. It will be handed out when the celebration ends at 23:59 CET on Oct. 26, which is 5:59 PM CT, to everyone who has played since Sept. 26.
Arrowhead is also bringing back community minigames on its official Discord server. Minidivers has players punch in emoji stratagem codes in chat to hold off waves of enemies, Oath of Enlistment hands out a keepsake copy of the oath, and Raise the Flag has everyone salute in chat together. Adopt-a-SEAF, which lets players care for a blueberry soldier and send it on missions, returns as well.
Players who like real-world rewards can chase Super Merch items. Completing select in-game achievements before Feb. 28, 2027 unlocks the chance to buy special items from the Helldivers 2 Super Merch store, including a Hell Commander pin for reaching level 100 and a Private Teddy Snuggles plush for completing 75 missions. New items are being added to the store for Liberty Day as well.
The studio also listed new licensed merchandise, including a limited set of six Helldivers 2 Display Shards and metal posters from Displate, plus a numbered FiGGYZ box set of four pixel-art magnetic figures that goes up for preorder Nov. 20.
Liberty Day comes on the heels of a big technical change for the shooter, which recently swapped GameGuard for Easy Anti-Cheat. Helldivers 2 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it is also part of the PlayStation Plus Extra Game Catalog.
