Marvel’s New Avengers Trailer Teases Mephisto and Mary Jane

Marvel just waved the red cape. At New York Comic Con’s House of Ideas panel, the publisher showed a trailer for Avengers #1 that puts Mary Jane, Mephisto, Peter Parker and Aunt May in the same breath, according to Bleeding Cool.

The on-screen legend framed the book as landing “in the wake of Armageddon,” with “a day unlike any other, when the devil collects his due.” That language is doing a lot of One More Day work on purpose. Bleeding Cool’s write-up clocks the marriage questions the imagery raises without treating any reunion as confirmed fact.

Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto are launching the new Avengers era. Solicitations list Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, Luke Cage and a redacted teammate for the $5.99 first issue on November 4, 2026.

Miracleman is on the roster

The trailer also puts David Colton — Marvel 616’s new Miracleman — in the mix opposite Spider-Man. Avengers #2 keeps the pressure on, with Aunt May in jeopardy again, demons flooding New York and Mephisto’s plans still opaque.

Luke Cage is still mayor of New York in this setup, at least for now. The larger pitch is a post-Armageddon Marvel Universe where Earth’s mightiest heroes have to rebuild trust from scratch.

Spider-Man is already carrying a huge 2027 slate. RCG covered Crisis of Faith, Spider-Punk and Spider-Man Noir out of the Spider-Web panel. This Avengers trailer is the broader universe answer to the same Armageddon fallout.

November 4 is when Zdarsky and Checchetto make the devil’s due impossible to ignore.

Marvel has been circling One More Day’s fallout for years without cleanly reopening the marriage. A trailer that restacks Mary Jane, Aunt May and Mephisto in the same Avengers launch video is not subtle, and Bleeding Cool’s report treats that as the point. Zdarsky and Checchetto already proved they can carry street-level Marvel on Daredevil; putting them on Avengers after Armageddon raises the scale without changing the soap-opera knives. November’s first issue is priced at $5.99, which fits a longer kickoff, and #2 keeps the Mephisto thread warm immediately after.
