Moon Studios has shown how much No Rest for the Wicked will change when it reaches version 1.0. In a new Wicked Inside showcase, the studio laid out a full class system, factions and a new way to build survivability, and said 1.0 will roughly double the size of the game.
Classes come from your weapon
The current attribute system is being replaced with 24 classes, and the weapon you hold decides which one is active. According to Gematsu’s report on the showcase, the classes draw on a pool of 362 traits that players can mix, match and carry between classes, so swapping weapons does not mean throwing away your build.
Survivability moves to Cerim Cores. These slot in upgrades for health, stamina and focus, plus specialty cores such as Feral, which boosts attack speed, and Crimson, which adds lifesteal. Pushing past your core capacity is allowed, but it raises the damage you take, so stacking power comes with a real cost.
Six factions
Version 1.0 also adds six factions to the island of Isola Sacra, including the Severed Hand, the Sacrament Guard and the Unspoken.
Beta in December, launch in March
Players will not have to wait until launch to try it. An open beta with all 24 classes is planned for December, according to the official No Rest for the Wicked news page. The full 1.0 release arrives on PS5 and PC via Steam in March 2027, after Moon Studios moved it from October in September. Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are planned for later.
That timing puts No Rest for the Wicked in a busy stretch for dark action RPGs, a field that keeps growing, as seen in Valor Mortis Launch Trailer Lands as New Game+ Is Confirmed. A class overhaul this deep is a big swing for an early access game, and the December beta will be the first chance to see whether it lands.
