Phantom Blade Zero has sold more than 4 million copies in its first three days. Developer S-GAME announced the milestone on Nov. 2 on the game’s official X account: “Phantom Blade Zero has sold over 4 million copies in just 72 hours! Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support!”
The wuxia action RPG launched digitally on Oct. 29 for PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, according to Gematsu. The sales figure covers every available platform, and S-GAME did not break it down by store or console.
The number caps a launch that was already loud on PC. Phantom Blade Zero passed 500,000 concurrent players on Steam and took the No. 1 Top Seller spot within hours of release, and its peak has since climbed past 800,000. That puts it among the biggest single-player debuts on Steam this year, and those counts do not include anyone playing on PS5.
For S-GAME, a Beijing studio best known for mobile games, this is its first major release on console and PC. Phantom Blade Zero follows Soul, an assassin framed for his master’s death and left with only 66 days to live. The game mixes wuxia storytelling with fantasy and folk horror under a style the studio calls “Kungfupunk,” built in Unreal Engine 5 and choreographed with motion capture inspired by Hong Kong action cinema. Players can wield more than 30 weapons and over 20 special techniques called Phantom Edges, taking new arms and moves from bosses they defeat.
It is a strong showing for another Chinese action game after Black Myth: Wukong, which sold 10 million copies in its own opening days in 2024. Phantom Blade Zero has not hit that pace, but it got to 4 million without a disc release or an Xbox version.
Physical PS5 editions are planned for 2027 in Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate versions, so retail sales have not started yet. For now, Phantom Blade Zero is available digitally on PS5, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
