Scott Snyder Wrote 7 of 2026’s Top 10 Comics So Far

Comics

2026 has been Scott Snyder’s year at the comic shop counter. Point-of-sale data from ComicHub, compiled by Bleeding Cool on Monday, October 5, shows Snyder wrote or co-wrote seven of the 10 bestselling comics in direct-market stores so far this year, and DC holds eight of the 10 spots.

The ranking, with Bleeding Cool’s index where No. 1 equals 100:

  1. Superman/Spider-Man #1 (DC), Scott Snyder and Dan Mora: 100
  2. Absolute Batman #20 (DC), Snyder and Nick Dragotta: 85.8
  3. Spider-Man/Superman #1 (Marvel), Brad Meltzer and Pepe Larraz: 78.9
  4. Daredevil #1 (Marvel), Stephanie Phillips and Lee Garbett: 71.9
  5. Absolute Green Arrow #1 (DC), Pornsak Pichetshote and Rafael Albuquerque: 66.0
  6. Absolute Batman #17 (DC), Snyder and Eric Canete: 62.3
  7. Absolute Batman #16 (DC), Snyder and Dragotta: 61.1
  8. Absolute Batman #21 (DC), Snyder and Dragotta: 60.1
  9. Absolute Batman #19 (DC), Snyder and Dragotta: 59.1
  10. Absolute Catwoman #1 (DC), Che Grayson and Snyder with Bengal: 56.8

Three things stand out. First, the two halves of the DC-Marvel crossover took two of the top three spots, with DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1 ahead of Marvel’s Spider-Man/Superman #1. Second, Absolute Batman holds five places on its own, and Absolute Batman #20 outsold Marvel’s half of the crossover. Third, Marvel’s Daredevil #1 relaunch, helped by blind-bag variants, is the only non-crossover Marvel book in the top 10.

How to read this chart: ComicHub data comes from roughly 120 to 150 stores that use its point-of-sale system, out of an estimated 1,800 to 2,000 direct-market comic shops, mostly in North America and the UK. The numbers show in-store sales relative to the year’s No. 1 book, not total copies or publisher orders. Big-box, bookstore, and digital sales are not included.

The year-to-date list matches what monthly charts have shown. RCG noted earlier that Absolute Batman led August’s comic charts, and the series is about to pause, since Absolute Batman goes on hiatus after #25. With DC’s top seller about to pause, the rest of 2026 will show whether the publisher can hold this lead on the year-end chart.

ComicHub’s year-to-date top 10, as Bleeding Cool published it, is an index of participating shops — not a unit-sales conversion or a complete industry total — but it is a clear mid-year picture of who is winning at the counter.
