The Wolf Among Us Remastered is still on track for October 29, but not everywhere. Telltale Games has pushed back the Nintendo Switch version to a later date, saying it needs more time to get the port right.
What Telltale said
In a message posted to its official X account on October 16, titled “An Update for Our Nintendo Switch Fans,” the studio said bringing The Wolf Among Us to Switch for the first time “is an exciting moment for us” and that it does not take that lightly.
“With that in mind, we’re taking some additional time to ensure we deliver the experience Nintendo players deserve,” Telltale wrote. “The Wolf Among Us Remastered will launch as planned on October 29 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The Nintendo Switch version will follow at a later date.”
The team said it will share an updated Switch release date “as soon as we can,” and added that it wants players’ first trip to Fabletown on the platform “to be worth the wait.”
Everything else holds
As Gematsu notes, the remaster still launches October 29 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. RCG covered that date when it was announced in Wolf Among Us Remastered Dated for Oct. 29.
The statement only refers to “Nintendo Switch” and does not mention Switch 2, so it is not yet clear whether Telltale plans a separate version for Nintendo’s newer console or whether Switch 2 owners will simply play the Switch release through backward compatibility.
The Wolf Among Us first launched episodically in 2013 and 2014, casting players as Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of a hidden community of fairy tale characters living in New York. The remaster gives players who missed the original, or never finished it, a cleaner way to step back into Fabletown on current hardware.
Switch players will have to wait a little longer to find out when their version is ready. Everyone else can head back to Fabletown at the end of the month.
