Retro survival-horror Heartworm is finally leaving PC-only territory. Publisher DreadXP and developer Vincent Adinolfi will release the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 1, 2026, Gematsu reports. The title first launched on PC via Steam on July 31, 2025.

What the Steam About copy sells

Heartworm casts players as Sam, who cannot move on from her grandfather’s death and follows a mysterious forum lead to a supposedly supernatural mountain house. The pitch is a reverent evolution of late-’90s survival horror — think Silent Hill and Resident Evil era staples — with a camera used as a weapon, classic puzzles, limited combat, and both fixed-camera and over-the-shoulder perspectives.

Feature notes from the Steam page include roughly four to six hours of play with multiple endings, pre-rendered and in-game cutscenes, a modern control scheme with optional classic tank controls, optional pixelation and retro effects, and a haunting original soundtrack. A new trailer accompanied the console-date announce.
