Two Shin chan Games Hit Switch 2 on March 4, 2027

Nintendo

Two of the coziest licensed games of the last few years are heading to Switch 2. Neos will release Switch 2 versions of Shin chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation – The Endless Seven-Day Journey and Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town worldwide on March 4, 2027, Gematsu reports, citing the company’s announcement.

Both games follow Shin chan on getaways outside the city. Summer Vacation is built around a seven-day trip, and Shiro and the Coal Town takes him and his dog to an old mining town. They are relaxed, low-stakes adventures that lean on the series’ humor and slice-of-life charm.

What the Switch 2 versions add

Neos says the Switch 2 editions run at 60 frames per second at a higher resolution, add mouse controller support, let players pick text and audio languages separately, and allow saving anywhere. That last one is a quiet but welcome quality-of-life fix for handheld play. Taken together, the list reads like what Switch 2 owners tend to want from older ports, with smoother frame rates, sharper visuals and more flexible controls.

There will also be a physical Double Pack available worldwide that puts both games on a single game card, which is a nice touch at a time when more Switch 2 physical releases ship as download keys. Neos has not announced pricing for the Switch 2 versions or the Double Pack yet.

Summer Vacation first launched on PlayStation 4, Switch and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, and later on iOS and Android through Crunchyroll Game Vault. Shiro and the Coal Town arrived on Switch, PC through Steam and mobile via Crunchyroll Game Vault.

Switch 2 keeps collecting upgraded versions of last-generation favorites, like when Octopath Traveler and its sequel landed on the system. If you missed these Shin chan adventures the first time, March looks like a good time to take the trip.
