Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 turned 10 on Oct. 25, and Bandai Namco is throwing it a goodbye party. The publisher has announced a two-part anniversary update, with a free patch on Tuesday, Oct. 27 and a “Final Festival of Universes” event starting Friday, Oct. 30, as detailed by IGN.

The Oct. 27 update adds new login bonus rewards, special costumes and an update to the Gallery of Time, which is unlocked through the Future Saga Chapter 4 DLC, the game’s final paid add-on.

The Final Festival of Universes is the bigger draw. During the event, players can raise their camaraderie level with one of the characters who has followed them through the game, choosing between Trunks, the Supreme Kai of Time or Fu, to unlock special illustrations. Hard-to-find items are coming back, and Star Coins will drop at 25 times the usual rate, making it much easier to trade them in for rewards.

There is also a reason to play ahead of the next game. Taking part in the festival can earn a new Gi made for the occasion and a commemorative medal. Owning either one will unlock special items in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 once players link their Bandai Namco ID, with the reward depending on which item they hold. Bandai Namco has more on the game at its official Xenoverse 2 page.

Xenoverse 2 originally launched on Oct. 25, 2016 and has since come to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Switch. Its mix of custom characters, time-patrol missions and years of DLC made it one of the longest-running Dragon Ball games, and the “Final Festival” name makes it clear this is a send-off.

The timing lines up with the road to the sequel. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is now targeting the second half of 2027, so the festival gives longtime players one more reason to log in, and a head start, before they move to West City in Age 1000.
