Marvel Comics says retailer orders for Amazing Spider-Man #1000 have cleared more than 400,000 copies three weeks out from the issue’s September 30, 2026 comic-shop street date — and a second printing is already lined up for October 28.
The figure appears in Marvel’s own preview copy carried by ICv2 on September 11, 2026, and matches coverage from Bleeding Cool, AIPT, and First Comics News. At a roughly $10 cover, that order base is about $4 million in retail value heading into shops on September 30, or four days earlier on September 26 for the Local Comic Shop Day Skan variant. Marvel frames the giant-sized milestone as a turning point in the Joe Kelly / Pepe Larraz run, with a lead story that sets up the new villain Ravage and a stack of anniversary shorts from creators including Noah Hawley (Marvel comics debut), Frank Miller with Peach Momoko, Brian Michael Bendis with Stuart Immonen, Dan Slott, J.M. DeMatteis, Larry Lieber, and others. Main covers on the first printing include John Romita Jr. with Paolo Rivera and Larraz.
The already-announced second printing returns October 28 with sketch versions of those Romita Jr. and Larraz mains — PrintWatch territory that usually signals a book Marvel expects to keep selling past FOC. Marvel also says a preview of the Kelly/Larraz lead will appear in the backs of select Marvel comics over the next few weeks, keeping the milestone visible on the stands before September 30.
For shops, the practical read is demand already forced an early second print before the first print hits most racks. That is separate from Circana BookScan or ComicHub POS: this is an advance-order number Marvel is willing to put in solicit language.
