IDW Publishing’s Godzilla universe is getting its first big crossover. Godzilla vs. Everything, a four-issue event from writer Tim Seeley and artist Fero Pe, will bring together every series in the publisher’s Kai-Sei Era line when it launches in March 2027, according to The Beat and IDW’s announcement on Graphic Policy.
The story pits the characters of the various Kai-Sei books against Godzilla after the King of the Monsters reaches “its most powerful form yet” and sets its sights on destroying the world.
The plan all along
Seeley, who writes the main Godzilla series and previously wrote Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla, said the crossover was part of the pitch from the start. “When I started work with editor Jake Williams and IDW on Godzilla, the big pitch was this was going to play like a universe of titles, but also as a universe of characters,” he said. “From the beginning, the goal was they’d all come together at some point as friends and/or enemies in a proper comic universe event title. Well, we’re here.”
The Kai-Sei Era launched in July 2025 with Seeley and Nikola Čižmešija’s Godzilla, the post-apocalyptic Escape the Deadzone and Starship Godzilla. All of the books revolve around Kai-Sei, a mysterious energy source that can mutate humans and kaiju alike. The prequel Horror of Godzilla has since joined the line, and IDW says it has sold more than 1 million Godzilla comics and books since the Kai-Sei Era began.
How to get ready
IDW is setting up the event across several books. Starship Godzilla: Invasion X #1 and Godzilla #13 are on sale now, and Godzilla: Revenge of the Deadzone #1 arrives on October 28. The main Godzilla series, drawn by Hendry Prasetya, wraps up with issue #17 in February, right before the crossover begins. Prasetya has also designed Godzilla’s new form for the event.
It is a busy stretch for the monster. Godzilla Minus Zero hits theaters on November 6, Legendary’s Godzilla x Kong: Supernova follows on March 26, and DC is bringing back its own crossover with Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong Vol. 3 in spring 2027. Fans can pre-order Godzilla vs. Everything #1 (of 4) at their local comic shop.
