Infinity Ward has pushed another round of fixes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The Oct. 24 update, described by Activision as a “small update” across all platforms, focuses on stability, exploits and quality-of-life problems in multiplayer and DMZ, according to the official patch notes reported by PCGamesN and Nintendo Life.
The biggest multiplayer change is to Hijack, where the studio says it has improved spawn locations and respawn timing. Search and Destroy players also get a fix for an exploit that let people defuse the bomb from an unintended distance or position. On Rooftops, the Deathstalker killstreak can no longer travel outside the map, the Portable Radar field upgrade now shows the minimap in Hardcore, and favorite Operators equip properly in Collateral.
DMZ gets a long list of fixes. Party leaders can no longer pull teammates out of DMZ without consent, a bug that could leave their Active Duty Operators marked MIA. The Exfil helicopter should no longer vanish while players are still inside, more rock spots on Hajin where players got stuck have been patched, an out-of-bounds problem in the FOB is closed, and AI reinforcements in the Shopping mission should spawn less often. A fix also stops some camo and reticle changes in the DMZ Gunsmith from costing DMZ cash.
Infinity Ward still lists a few known issues. The regional map animation shown while searching for lobbies has been temporarily disabled while the team looks into reports of hitching, some players are being kicked while spectating, and PC players may hit a network error when extracting from DMZ with a looted Dog Tag.
Switch 2 players should clear some space. Nintendo Life reports that the update weighs in at roughly 30GB on Nintendo’s console, where the full game already takes about 91GB with multiplayer, campaign and DMZ installed. Prestiging is also unavailable while searching for a match, and the UI has been updated to make that clear.
The patch lands during the game’s launch weekend, alongside the new C.O.D.E. Valor Pack honoring Medal of Honor recipient Kyle Carpenter. Infinity Ward says it will keep sharing progress as it works through the remaining problems, with known issues tracked on its Trello board.
